Several lipids have been used in veterinary science. Medium chain triglycerides (MCT) and glycerol tripelargonate (C9) have been used to reduce neonate pig mortality. Structured lipids have been used in the feeding of endangered species (whales) and can be produced to simulate the fatty acid content of most animal milks.
